Williamsburg Walks was more than just a straight-forward New York City street fair. On June 26th and 27th, 2010, Williamsburg Walks reinvented Bedford Avenue as a high quality public space, acting as a community exercise that gave locals and visitors a taste of what the future of Bedford Avenue, and greater Williamsburg, could be.

Months of meticulous planning ensured that the event was thought provoking and that it provided excitement and intrigue for everyone. DoTankers worked with a host of energetic partners to make the event a success. We helped organize key elements of the event such as a public art competition, a diverse schedule of programming that varied by block, and walking tours of the neighborhood, all of which encouraged the public to “Rethink Our Public Space.” Also, DoTank:Brooklyn hosted a booth as part of the skill share block where all event attendees were encouraged to take part in building Shelton Davis’ pallet chairs.
